Blog: What to do?

Since moving to wordpress I have gained a hell of a lot more flexability in what I want to achieve with this. Now after playing around for a few weeks it strikes me that the posts may seem a little random in subject matter to you. You may have arrived here to read an Apple related article, but are not so interested in what socks I have been wearing this week, and what I did over the weekend.

A quick mooch reveals that WordPress also have another application, WordPressMU (Multiple User) with which I could create multiple blogs, each dedicated to it’s own specific categories. I might as well dive in and sort this now before this site grows too big. I had a nice adventure in upgrading this installation of wp last night and hosed the site for a few hours, luckily I backed up the important files, so it didn’t take long to get back up and running again, so now I am in the mood to get hands dirty and upgrade to an even more flexible platform.

So what do you think? Feedback appreciated, I am currently using Google analytics to measure site traffic, so I know it’s not just mother checking in once in a blue moon.

Over 2 years of blogging!

Dear reader (for there is only one) today for your viewing pleasure, I have used a nifty little plugin to import all posts from the old blog @ www.pro-creator.co.uk

Previous blog was managed through blogger and ftp’d from there to my web hosts where pro-creator points to.
This has been ok for 2 years, but need more flexability and functionality than blogger can offer, so I have installed WordPress on the web server and set up a database to store all the doings.

Now I can have categories to group content together (nice for you) and have some fun busting all the page templates.

So good for you as I will take a bit more interest in posting more often, and good for me as I get to learn nice database and php an ting nice!

Blog now (as you can see) is @ blog.pro-creator.co.uk and www.pro-creator.co.uk will also get a face lift to remove current blog (now all imported here) and give me a kinda hub to link to other things I got planned, pyramid sales schemes, affiliate sales links for random crap, you know the sort of thing.

ttfn :O)

ps – if any chance you is wanting to import from new style blogger to WP 2.1 the plugin is available here

Communication Breakdown

Back from Zakynthos, very nice :O)

While there 2 lovely things occured. Lost mobile and web hosting company suspended our account so if you mailed after 05/06 odds are you got a bounced mail, and if you tried to call mobile, you got a dead doodaa.

As you can see, site is back up, and have a new phone on the way, so back in the real world by Monday afternoon.

Photos going up over the weekend, took about 1032 so a bit of filtering necc before upload to flickr.

More details on the hols to come.

One of those…

…posts that goes on about having not posted regular again!!!

Updates coming up later:

Pics Down

I have upgraded to a pro flickr account, so have just deleted all pics off there for now.

The previous sets were all low res, small pics. Will be replaced later with full size images and a bit better organisation.

You will have to imagine my fine self until then.

Waiting so long..

Sorry, it has been a while, and if one does not tap into this thing regular like, it all gets a bit much to recap a few months.

Highlight has been our trip to Holland at the start of the month. We were there to celebrate Skye’s 7th Birthday on Aug 1st, had a fantastic day with all our family in the netherlands.

Skye has also learned to ride a bike, and after initial nerves, now flies off beyond range (just like that clip from “Kramer vs Kramer that is used to advertise Sky Movies).

Have become a complete mac geek and now have iMac g5, iBook g4 and 60gb iPod photo all running through a nice wireless network (cheap linksys hg200 wireless router from Tesco, £49.99 bargain.)

We had an appointment with consultant @ Birmingham Children’s hospital with Tobias, confirmed that has has now been transferred to Birmingham, which ends the trips up the M6 to Manchester and means we are close to home during future procedures.

Lot’s off stuff to do then, loads of pics to put up, and an attempt at an update every 2 days.

LOY – Neill x
