Quit Smoking Today

I quit smoking today, well last night I suppose, but today is the first smoke free day. Why blog it? Well, it’s not for you but for me, so I can look back and know the date at some point in the future. Last time I quit for 6 mths, but after a while could never remember exactly when I stopped, at the time I thought this was a good thing, as it meant I was not thinking about smoking at all. On the other hand, knowing the amount of time can be encouraging, so here be the marker.

I got me Paul McKenna “Quit Smoking in 60 seconds honest” audio book thing, I bought a new pair of pumps (months ago), so I am going to get fit as well as quit smoking, yeehaa!

National Shed Week

Hail!

All you with sheds, I implore you to support the efforts of my friends over at Readers Sheds and sign the petition to create a “National Shed Week”:

Garden sheds are part of British life. They serve us well and have been the cornerstone of this great country for years. Plus they are a great place just to go and drink tea and have a tinker.

We think that the public should appreciate sheds more and having a national week would be a start – especially when you think that there are so many other National this and that weeks. It’s about time the humble garden shed is given an opportunity to shine!

The Garden shed provides a refuge where gardeners and people who love the outdoors can make use of their local environment and make it a greener place.

So, go on get your self over to the petition and sign up now, I’ll put the kettle on.
