Tacheback 2009: Return of the Mutosh

Men around the world quiver with anticipation on the eve of Tacheback 2009 And this year we have none other than business man of the year 1993 Keith Lemon to provide inspiration for our growth with his mighty sexual Northern ways, witness the fitness:

I will of course be cultivating my own mouthbrow [ (c) Peter Serafinowicz ] & you would be very lovely if you would consider sponsoring me at my HQ HERE where I will keep you updated with progress.

Style wise, it’s looking likely I am going for the “Please let me in the Blue Oyster Bar” look again, this may change as the month progresses though.

Tacheback basically means we manly men (who are unable to hobble round a marathon, half marathon, or 500 metre kids walk-a-thon) Can do a manly thing and raise funds for the Everyman Male Cancer campaign.

Thanks for reading through all that, and even bigger thanks if you have made a donation. Of course there is the chance I will be able to make more money by doing a sponsored “Beatting the fanny off with a stick” what with how rugged and masculine I will be looking, will let you know more ASAP on that.

MEN! please join me at team Fantashtique where we can join forces in the battle against winky & botty cancer. That’s all.

PS Businessman of the Year 1993 Keith Lemon’s message for the ladies:

Merry Christmas 2007

We would like to wish all our friends and family a fantastically, wonderfully Merry Christmas. Hope you all have a great, relaxed festive break, and that Santa makes all your wishes come true.

Tree is all ready for the big fella down stairs, carrot and bowl of milk for Rudolph, bottle of beer and mince pie for Santa.

Crimbly Tree

Kids are fast asleep after a nice warm bath, and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” of course.

Have Fun!

Travels In Europe

Zante Beach

Great new site I found today Travels in Europe featuring some great first hand accounts of holidays in Zante (Zakynthos) in Greece (where we did go for our jollydays this year).

It’s always better to get first hand accounts of destinations, resorts and accomodation, and Julia writes with great wit and warmth, this kind of site gives you a much better idea about potential destinations than a brochure will ever do, and certainly helps decide on whether to go for a package deal, or strike out alone and arrange all bits and bobs yourself, turning a holiday, into an adventure (which is always more fun).

Great job Jools, looking forward to your updates on further destinations, and tales of ponkeys and diddly dees :O)

Tacheback – the final count

Tacheback finished 2 weeks ago. On that wonderful Sunday I treated meself to a trip to the barbers for a shave and a haircut.

Haircut was ok, but how complicated and time consuming is a number 1 all over. The shave on the other hand was a disappointment. Took 40 mins and although I was initially please (obviously) to be relieved of the weight from my top lip, I quickly lost interest when I left the barbers and found upon a quick tactile inspection (finger tip search) that my face was not as smooth as the proverbial (ala this amusing promo from Wilkinson Sword). So I had to have a proper shave when I returned home, 5 mins with a gillette mach3 and the smooth was back. No more barber shaves for me (unless someone can recommend a place that does it right)!

Here is the final gallery, I kind of ended up looking like a trailer trash from the US, which is ok as I thought it might end up with me taking up membership with the Blue Oyster Bar final amount raised for Everyman Cancer Research >>>>>>

Thanks very much to all friends/family/colleagues who have supported me and donated, as in all these cases, every little helps, thanks again. I now have a year to decide whether I will do it again, or just do a run or something next year?

Tacheback – Grow a Tache – Raise some cash

tacheback - grow a tache, raise some cash

For the month of September I shall be taking part in a fine gentlemens pursuit, the growth and upkeep of my first mustache, of the handle bar variety no less.

As well as increasing my devilishly handsome visage, making all those of the gentler sex weak at the knees no doubt, my manly efforts are also in aid of that fine institution “Tacheback“, with the aim of raising much needed funds for Everyman, funding research to cross out male cancer.

Click on the piccy above, or HERE to go to my HQ, where I will be uploading pics of progress, and where you may, if you so wish, make a small donation towards the cause.

Having merely dallied with the hirsuit pursuit in the past, one must admit to a certain amount of trepidation as to how my upper lip lounger may be greeted by the general public, family, friends and colleagues, we shall see, although I do trust my choice of style may only increase their impression of my hot blooded machismo.

Will keep you up to date with progress, may pop a wee piccy on the flickr daily so we may all admire the change.

Chin Chin! (Or lip lip, well upper lip, you know…)

Zante here we come

saucy postcard
Posts may be few and far between for next two weeks as we depart for Zakynthos (Zante) tomorrow morning from Birmingham Intl @ 6am.

There are plenty of intenet doodads, so will post bits and bobs whenever I get drawn back to a monitor (very rarely) Maybe pop some pics up.

We are staying @ the Arion Rennaisance if you need to send cavier/champagne etc.
