National Shed Week

Hail!

All you with sheds, I implore you to support the efforts of my friends over at Readers Sheds and sign the petition to create a “National Shed Week”:

Garden sheds are part of British life. They serve us well and have been the cornerstone of this great country for years. Plus they are a great place just to go and drink tea and have a tinker.

We think that the public should appreciate sheds more and having a national week would be a start - especially when you think that there are so many other National this and that weeks. It’s about time the humble garden shed is given an opportunity to shine!

The Garden shed provides a refuge where gardeners and people who love the outdoors can make use of their local environment and make it a greener place.

So, go on get your self over to the petition and sign up now, I’ll put the kettle on.

Me long term Geek - proof

Do you ever vanity search? Pop your own name into google/yahoo/search engine of choice, and see if you can find any mention of yourself? I do all the time, just in case any hot chicks are talking about me (and they do).

Well, they may no longer, a recent vanity search led me to proof positive that I am a long term geek, with no prospect of recovery. But I am proud, after all, how many of you can say that Merlin of the famous “Merlins Cave” adventure game page in Acorn Electron User magazine chose you, out of the tens of twats that wrote in, to include a comment in his sacred place HUH?

CHECK IT OUT 4th column, first paragraph, November 1985 - I doth truly ruleth, jealous?

Feel free to print out a copy and show your friends, tell them “I know him” and know that that will increase your cool ratio.

So remember to check back for more details.

Social bookmarks an ting

As you can see there is a link to the “Social” page at the top there. Pop through and you will see a nice big kinda cloud of all my publicly visible bookmarks (I have got some secrets you know) that are managed through my del.icio.us account.

del.icio.us allows you to export and manage all of your internet bookmarks online, share them with other people, and integrate them with plugins like this nice firefox one. Doing this means you can always have your bookmarks to hand wherever you are, at home, at work, on holiday etc.

So I thought I’d share that, being nice and all that, feel free to send paypal donations of thanks to neill@pro-creator.co.uk :O)

If your using Apple OSX you can also use a nice app like cocoalicious to manage all your bookmarks (although development seems a bit slow on this one, it does the trick), you may need to tickle it a bit as well (see this)

Of course you might be using Windows, in which case, you have my sympathies.

Do you know our son Steve?

Monday Afternoon this week, went to pick Tobias up from School (12/03/07). As we walked across the playing field with him, two boys, same age as Tobias, but ones we did not recognise (different class) ran up to Tobias and said “Hey Steve, we are playing that rocket game”, they carried on running across the field, leaving me and Kasey to stare at a rather sneaky looking boy.

It appears he has been telling people his name is Steven Gerrard again :O) This happens on a regular basis, days out, holidays etc, so we got word to Steven Gerrard via Opa Arthur (Opa being dutch for Grandfather) and last Saturday morning, Tobias received a rather nice signed photo from Steven Gerrard especially dedicated to Tobias.
